Meeting Minutes


Meeting opened at 7:00pm by Roman Paryz with 13 members and 1 guest present.



  •  Haslet Wild West Fest was a great time.  Numerous training flyers were handed out.

  • Giant Scale Fly In and 3D Bash was a success, 37 registered pilots, 3 sponsored pilots and lots of fun.



  • TxWings SPA event is Saturday, May 10th.  Registration starts at 8am, flights start at 9am.

  • TxWings was awarded the AMA Site Improvement Grant.  Club needs to purchase material to build start up stands and take pictures during the process to send to AMA.

  • Hawk Field Flyers of Texas is closed and they are actively searching for property.  Guy Gross from Hawks field attended the meeting and informed the club that he and a few other members are searching for a new home club and that he was interested in joining TxWings.  A short discussion occurred and a motion was made to allow current Hawk members with a 2014 membership card to joining TxWings for $20 for 2014.  Motion was made by Tony Steely and seconded by Joel Rickertsen.  Motion passed unanimously.

  • Tony advised that John Fischer’s son has been diagnosed with cancer and that he is in a local hospital.  Motion made by Joel to send flowers from TxWings to the Fischer Family, seconded by Greg Fierst.  Motion Passed unanimously.

  • Training season is underway.  Tony advised this year has been busy and with the flyers handed out at the Haslet Wild West Fest it has created a great turn out.  If you are a TxWings trainer and are available on training day please attend and help.

  • SPA events:

  1. TxWings 5-10-14, need volunteers with several activities.  Please contact Tim Reed.

  2. Tulsa, OK 6-7-14

  3. Golden Triangle 6-28-14

  4. Wrightsville, AR 7-12-14  www.farmrcclub.com

  5. GSW 8-14-14

  6. Thunderbirds 10-11-14

  • Memorial Day fun fly has been rescheduled to May 31st due to a scheduling conflict with Thunderbirds.

  • A 5 year plan was discussed and below are some of the ideas.  (no particular order)

  1. Extend the awning to the north.

  2. Tear down old shed and use leftover material to extend the awning.

  3. Purchase a new mower.

  4. Have running water and electricity (Battery bank with solar panels)

  5. Purchase bleachers for spectators

  6. Refurbish club sign on highway

  7. Purchase a bullhorn for events.

  • Lance Pendleton gave the treasures report, club is doing well financially and stated the club has 79 members. 



  • Joel won a Hitec HS-755HB servo donated by Airport Pawn and Hobby.



  • Richard Rovnyak displayed his Gentle Lady Sail Plane.
